Video Security Outlook

Independent industry research across the US and Europe.

What’s in the report?

Everyone wants AI, but trust and readiness will decide how fast it scales.

While two-thirds of the industry plans to invest in AI and video analytics over the next 12 months, only 7% have it widely deployed today. Based on an independent survey across the US and Europe, this report maps the four-step path from early evaluation to trusted, human-supervised intelligence.

  1. 68% of organizations rank AI and analytics as their #1 investment priority for the next 12 months, yet 45% cite limited AI capability in their current system as their #1 challenge.

  2. Only 7% have AI widely deployed today, while 70% are either actively evaluating it (43%) or running selected pilot deployments (27%).

  3. 77% of decision-makers want AI capped at supervised or low-risk tasks—including 56% who want AI to handle routine responses with human oversight—while only 1% are comfortable with full autonomy today.

  4. 44% of security professionals name AI accuracy, false alarms, and trust as a top barrier to modernizing their video security environment.

  5. 55% of respondents say real-time operational intelligence and 50% say AI-assisted operator decision support will separate leading security programs from the rest within five years.
